Alexander Turchinov
Turchinov Alexander Valentinovich is a Ukrainian politician, the former acting President of Ukraine, the former Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council.
Biography
Born on March 31, 1964 in Dnepropetrovsk.
In 1986 graduated with honors from the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute, technological faculty. On his second year was honored to visit India and Ceylon as the commander of the construction brigade.
From 1986 to 1987 worked as a catcher and later as a master at “Kryvorizhstal” metallurgical plant.
From 1987 to 1990 worked as the secretary and later as the head of the agitation and propaganda division of the Dnepropetrovsk Komsomol Committee. Turchinov was one of the coordinators of the democratic platform in the Communist Party of the Soviet Union advocating for the renewal and decentralization of the party. In this regard, he was deprived of a membership card. He joined the Democratic Revival Party of Ukraine.
From 1990 to 1991, chief editor of the Ukrainian branch of the “IMA-press" news agency that was created by him and published books and newspapers.
In 1991 founded and became the head of the Institute of International Relations, Economics, Politics and Law.
In 1992 Turchinov became the head of the Committee on the privatization and demonopolization of production at the Dnepropetrovsk regional state administration.
In 1993, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma on economic issues, Vice President of Ukrainian Union of Industrialist and Entrepreneurs.
In September 1993 after the resignation of Leonid Kuchma he was appointed as Director General of the Institute for Economic Reforms, head of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences' Laboratory of Shadow Economy Research.
In 1994 he created political party All-Ukrainian Association "Community" known as “Hromada” that in 1997 was headed by Pavel Lazarenko. “Hromada” supported Leonid Kuchma candidacy on presidential elections.
In 1998 he was elected People's Deputy of Ukraine on “Hromada” party list and became the head of the Budget Committee of the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine.
In 1999 after a conflict with Pavel Lazarenko All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland" was created. Turchinov became the deputy head of the leader of the party Yulia Tymoshenko.
In 2002 Turchinov was elected People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc (BYuT).
In 2004, one of the deputy heads of the election headquarters of Viktor Yushchenko during the presidential election.
From February to September 2005, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
From May to November 2007, First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
From December 2007 to March 2010, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
In 2011, after Yulia Tymoshenko arrest Turchinov became the leader of the party.
In February 2014, was elected Chairman of the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine. 288 deputies voted for his appointment. One of the first who congratulated Turchinov with the appointment was the US ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Ross Pyatt.
On February 27, 2014 Turchinov signed a decree appointing Arseniy Yatsenyuk the head of the Ukrainian government.
From February to November 2014 Turchinov was the Chairman of the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine.
From February to June 2014, Acting President of Ukraine, as well as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In August 2014, he left the "Fatherland" party and joined the “People's Front” political party.
From December 2014 to May 2019, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
Participation in crimes against the Ukrainians
Turchinov is personally responsible for the start of the so-called anti-terrorist operation in East Ukraine. He signed the decree No 405/2014 on the start of the anti-terrorist operation: “To enact the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine of April 13, 2014 “On the Urgent Measures to Overcome the Terrorist Threat and Preserve the Territorial Integrity of Ukraine"”.
In addition, Turchinov stood at the origins of the volunteer battalions creation and personally signed orders and issued weapons from warehouses to those who went to the war zone.
Bloody events occurred in Odessa during his leadership. According to some reports, he knew about the upcoming provocation.
Besides, during his presidency there was a bloody massacre in Mariupol on May 9, 2014. Acting Head of State, he could not know about the actions of his subordinates from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard and the Armed Forces.
The army was also actively involved in the ATO because of Turchinov. In May 2014, the Ukrainian armed forces began to conduct active hostilities with aviation and artillery in the area of the city of Slavyansk.
Relations with the West religious clans and Western intelligence.
Turchinov adheres to non-traditional religious views of Ukraine.
In the 1990s, the closest assistant to Pavel Lazarenko, Turchinov accompanied him to various religious events organized by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vladimir Shushkevich. Shushkevich was a pastor of the “Word of Faith” church which was later renamed the “Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations”. The sect was led by the Nigerian Sunday Adelaja, the spiritual mentor of the deputy-millionaire, the former mayor of Kiev Leonid Chernovetsky.
In 1997, Turchinov moved to the Baptists Church. He was personally consecrated by the head of the Baptist Church of Ukraine Vladimir Kunets. Through this religious structure Turchinov has established and maintains contacts with Western intelligence as well as with representatives of large financial organizations.
