The Verkhovna Rada Committee on tax and customs policy did not approve the draft law on the economic security Bureau, which deprived the SBU of the right to interfere in economic activities. The bill provided for the elimination of the SBU office for "counterintelligence protection of the economy of Ukraine", which has repeatedly caused complaints from the business community as a tool for pressure on entrepreneurs.
According to a member of the Golos party, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, this way the SBU will retain legal grounds to interfere in business Affairs.
