The Nikolaev district administrative court declared invalid the decision of the city council of Nikolaev on granting the regional status for the Russian language. In May this year, the deputies voted to save the Russian language regional status. Despite the active ukrainization, the regional status of languages is still valid in the Dnipropetrovsk and Luhansk regional councils, as well as in some communities of the Odessa and Transcarpathian regions.
