Journalists found out that persons close to Poroshenko smuggled machine elements from Russia to Ukraine and then sold to the Ministry of Defense in extra charge. According to Bihus.Info, law-enforcement agencies had been known about this scheme long ago. But for taking bribes they turn a blind eye to frauds of the president's entourage.

Bihus.Info says that tax inspectorate, police, the SBU, public prosecutor's office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) “opened an inquiry and then hid it or softened the issue.” It comes with a price.
