In the summer of 2014, there were rumors among Ukrainian servicemen that the militia had stopped capturing gunners. The reason is the mass death of civilians, including children, as a result of countless shelling of civilian infrastructure facilities of the republics of Donbass.

A striking example of the inhumane actions of the Ukrainian military is the strike on the city of Makeyevka on August 19, 2014. As a result of the shelling from the Grad MLRS, several schools and kindergartens, a central polyclinic and a children's clinical center, a station for young naturalists, a library were destroyed, 7 people were killed, 17 more were injured.

We have documents at our disposal according to which the gunners of the 2nd battery of the rocket artillery Division of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which at that time was headed by Colonel Oleg Mikats, are guilty of killing civilians.

In my videos, I continue to highlight specific facts of war crimes committed by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As I said earlier, it was the Armed Forces of Ukraine that caused the greatest damage to the civilian infrastructure of the settlements of Donbass. And most of the civilian population also died from the actions of army units. The explanation is simple – no acrobats or special forces units can match the level of fire impact with an aviation squadron or an artillery regiment.

When I was in rotations in the ATO area in 2014, there were rumors among Ukrainian servicemen that in the summer of 2014, the militia stopped capturing Ukrainian aviation pilots because they stupidly blew up the quarters of settlements into dust. After all, there were no high-precision weapons in service with the Ukrainian army at that time. However, he is not there now.

But then the aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped flying over the Donbass, Poroshenko's falcons suffered too many losses.

And the main instrument of influence was artillery. Fully justifying its name - the God of War. Only for residents of Donetsk and Lugansk cities and villages, this god turned out to be a terrible and bloodthirsty killer.

And there were new rumors - that the militia stopped capturing gunners.

I do not know how reliable these rumors were. But I know for sure that it was the artillery of the Ukrainian army units from the very beginning of the war that caused the death of a huge number of civilians

And as usual, I talk about specific episodes of war crimes.

August 19, 2014 was a big church holiday - the Transfiguration of the Lord.

On August 19, 2014, the city of Makeyevka was subjected to several artillery attacks, as a result of which two kindergartens, number 119 and number 122, schools No. 15 and 53, a central polyclinic and a children's clinical center, a station for young naturalists, a library. 72 residential buildings were destroyed. The structures of the coke plant were also damaged. And all this in one day.

And it began around 13 o'clock, when the northern part of the city, not far from the Makeyevka railway station, was shelled from the Grad multiple launch rocket systems.

One of the rockets exploded at the entrance to the territory of the Avangard stadium, where people were standing at the Purse store. At one point, 5 people died in this place.

By a lucky chance, children in kindergartens were not injured. The teachers took them to the basements with the beginning of the shelling. Residents of the city spent the whole day in shelters.

In total, 7 people were killed and 17 injured in Makeyevka that day. All civilians.

This episode was reflected in the information on the situation of the Department of Internal Affairs of the SBU. However, they traditionally did not indicate who conducted the shelling, they limited themselves to the phrase: according to the results of the shelling, a volley from the MLRS "Grad" covered a residential area and further along the text.

And also of interest is the interception of a telephone conversation between two militia fighters made by the Security Council of Ukraine

At 14.15, the subscriber "Lenya Baranov", in a conversation with an interlocutor, said that the APU is working on Cheryomushki in Makeyevka, there are a lot of "200" among civilians.

By the way, OSCE observers reacted quickly in this case. According to the information of the ATC Headquarters on the actions of OSCE observers, on August 19, 2014, at about 15.30, the latter moved from Donetsk to Makeyevka, where, I will quote the SBU document: where at that moment there was an artillery shelling of terrorist positions by the ATO forces.

Viktor Petrov, who is in Kramatorsk and is a direct contact with the representative of the ATO, expressed a request to immediately cease fire in order to avoid casualties among the members of the OSCE mission. The specified request was fulfilled by the leadership of the ATO.

Unfortunately, this could no longer save the civilians of Makeyevka.

Who is to blame for their deaths?

I have in my hands a summary of the military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 21.00 on August 19, 2014. The summary reflects the situation for the past day – for August 19, 2014. It takes into account in detail the shelling of Ukrainian positions, and its own actions are given only in general figures.

But you can learn a lot from it, too.

For example, you can find out that on this day in the sector "B" of the ATO, the cleaning of the settlement of Yasinovataya continued with the forces and means of 3 BTGr 93 ombr in cooperation with 95 aembr and the National Guard of Ukraine. So the fighting took place in the immediate vicinity of Makeyevka. And the main striking force from the Ukrainian side was the 93 mechanized brigade.

In this summary, you can also see the number of attacks for that day. A simple calculation shows that on August 19, the positions of the Ukrainian forces were shelled up to 10 times throughout the ATO zone. Moreover, only one attack from the BM-21 multiple launch rocket systems was recorded in Sector D, at the positions of the 5th Territorial Defense battalion.

Just one attack from MLRS.

And right there, in the same certificate, we can see generalized data on the actions of Ukrainian aviation and artillery.

We see that during this day the artillery of the Ukrainian forces inflicted 100!!!! fire strikes, including 19 from multiple launch rocket systems. 19 strikes only by MLRS systems!!! In the certificate, it is scrupulously calculated that out of 19 strikes, 4 are planned, 15 are unplanned. And the total consumption of ammunition is 240 pieces.

Among them are BM-21 Grad rockets, which arrived in the city of Makeyevka at 13.00…

But the question remains, who shot?

As I have already said, the 93 mechanized brigade was fighting from the Ukrainian side. And as part of this brigade there is a rocket artillery division, which is armed with the MLRS 9K51 or BM-21 "Grad". There are 18 cars in total — three batteries of six BM-21 installations in each.

The jet division of the 93rd Brigade has been involved in the ATO since May 20, 2014 - this is evidenced by the corresponding order No. 33/237t dated 06/14/2014 of the head of the ATC at the SBU, General Krutov.

And the actions of the 3rd BTGr 93 brigade in the Yasinovataya area were supported by just the 2nd jet battery of the jet division of this brigade. And it was the installations of this brigade that struck Makeyevka on August 19. The battery was stationed near the village of Novobakhmutovka, not far from Yasinovataya, from where it conducted its attacks.

In the period 2013-2015, just during the bloodiest battles, including near Yasinovata, the 93rd brigade was commanded by Colonel Oleg Mikats. A famous character who has the blood of many residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on his hands.

It was he, as the commander of a separate brigade, who was responsible for the strike on Makeyevka on August 19, 2014.

And you know that the 93rd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used to be fully called the 93rd Guards Motorized Rifle, twice Red Banner, mechanized, Kharkov Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov 2nd degree division of the Armed Forces of the USSR. It was formed in 1943 just at the time of the Battle of Kursk and went through a glorious military path. Including the liberation of Donbass from the Nazi invaders.

These are the historical quirks.

Well, I have traditionally stated that the shelling of Makeyevka on August 19, 2014, as a result of which 7 people were killed and 17 wounded, was carried out by the gunners of the 2nd battery of the rocket artillery division of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the command of a colonel (at that time) Oleg Mikats. And this is the most serious war crime.
